A Spicier Life CAL

Posted by Crazy Knitter22 at 5:43 pm 0 comments
I just finished the "A Spicier Life CAL"
I used the Bollywood colour pack

I really enjoyed making it. Probably that's why it only took me a week.

I bought the yarn from BlackSheepWools
There are 3 Stylecraft and 1 Debbie Bliss colour packs to choose from.
Or just pick your own colours.
You will have quite some yarn left over so you should be able to make a couple of cushion covers from the rest.

addiCraSyTrio testing

I received the newsletter from Artyarn the other day advertising these new addi knitting needles.
For someone who loves knitting socks, I always look for alternatives that make life easier.
They looked interesting enough for me to buy one set. The 2.5mm wasn't in stock so I went for the 2.75mm.
They arrived very quickly!

This morning I thought I give them a try.

Casting on: no problem.
First round: A bit fiddly.
After about 1cm of knitting, it does get easier.
In the beginning, I was trying to figure out where to hold the loose ends so it felt comfortable.
I guess it'll take half a sock to get really used to them.
Mind you maybe I didn't choose the best yarn to start with. The cotton stretch isn't the smoothest to knit with any needle.
I am sure other sock wool works better.

Fazit: They are very light, feel smooth and make a good set of knitting needles to travel with. But you will have to get used to them, especially how to hold them.
For myself, I will get a set of 2.5mm and a set of 3mm.

Selling on eBay

Posted by Crazy Knitter22 at 7:57 pm 0 comments
I have been through our wardrobes and I found lots of stuff that doesn't fit (too big),  looks too girly or why the heck did I buy this stuff anyway.

So atm I am listing on eBay. Some of it is worn but in very good condition and some of it is brand new and never worn.

I will ship worldwide but I can only offer free postage within the UK.

Please feel free to have a browse and check back because this is just the beginning.

What else did I do?

Posted by Crazy Knitter22 at 12:18 pm 0 comments
Well, 4 months before we went on our holidays to Switzerland to visit my mum, who will be 78 in October and still pretty fit, I was building a new PC for myself.

Here are the specs:
RAM Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400MHz CL14 32GB (2x 16GB)
PSU EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GS 80 Plus Gold
CPU Intel Core i7-7700K 4.2GHz Socket 1151 unlocked quad core
Cooler Master Seidon 120V ver3 Liquid CPU Cooler
MSI Z270 SLI PLUS Socket 1151 ATX Motherboard
Cooler Master CM590 III Mid Tower Chassis White
5 fans, 3 blue 2 red and soooooo quiet.
1 SHHD and 3 HDDs
and my old EVGA Nvidia GTX 980 Ti super clocked.

We stayed for 4 weeks at my mum's. The first and last time. The weather wasn't as good as we hoped for so we started to get dreadfully bored. I didn't take anything with me, on purpose. I wanted to have a break from knitting and crocheting for once.
But really 3 weeks are more than enough in one go.

Back home, of course, I caught a damn bug again on the plane. Still, can't shake this stupid cough off my chest.
Oh, great news, we have a new yarn store in town which is great.
Atm, I am finishing the Sophie I started a while ago. The cotton version. I will use it as wall decoration when it's finished.
Oh yes, we have each a Fitbit now and we are walking much more than we used to do. I am already a size smaller again. But this time I want to keep going and not put it back on again like last winter.

So that's the latest news from me.

Happy knitting and crocheting everyone πŸ˜ΊπŸ’“
